Controller OR, e diodi ideali

I controller a diodo ideale, chiamati anche controller ORing, sono dispositivi progettati per controllare un pass transistor esterno (solitamente un FET) in modo da consentire il flusso di corrente in una sola direzione. Sono simili a un diodo raddrizzatore ma con una perdita di conduzione molto più bassa. Tra le altre applicazioni, sono comunemente utilizzati per fornire una protezione contro il flusso inverso negli alimentatori progettati per essere collegati in parallelo per motivi di ridondanza o per aumentare la capacità di corrente di uscita.
