Digi-Key Partners with Texas Instruments and BMK for TechMatch Start-Up Event
THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minnesota, USA - 25 settembre 2017
Texas Instruments (TI) has enlisted the help of Digi-Key Electronics, a global electronic components distributor, to host TechMatch for the first time in Munich on 18 October, 2017. Ten start-ups from the hardware sector, which are already developing or planning their electronic components themselves, are given the opportunity to present their innovations.
Texas Instruments chose to partner with Digi-Key and the electronics service provider BMK for this event in order to intensify its cooperation with innovative start-ups.
"This event provides 'true value' for these innovative companies," said Hermann Reiter, Director, Sales Central & Eastern Europe at Digi-Key. "It's certainly a partnership of today's leaders for future leaders."
To get one of the ten pitch places on the TechMatch, the hardware start-ups have to apply. The decision as to who is to receive one of the seven-minute slots is decided on the basis of the submitted pitch decks (application presentations).
How does TechMatch work?
At the event itself, the selected young companies then present their products and their business ideas to a jury consisting of experts in the fields of electronics supply chain, company founding, investment and marketing.
In addition to representatives from Texas Instruments, Digi-Key and the BMK Group, the company also includes experts for the founding of the company such as Gregor Haidl, an analyst at the High-Tech Gründerfonds, Professor Dr. Herbert Gillig from the University of Munich or Andrea Badura, founder and professor for the Department of Marketing & Sales at Landshut University of Applied Sciences.
Through direct and constructive feedback, attendees receive suggestions on how to make their products more effective, efficient, and cost-effective.
Prizes for the Best Presentations
The three best presentations will be honored. For example, there is technical support to win, in the form of 45 free man-hour hardware support from TI engineers. A marketing workshop with a value of €10,000 is also included.
In addition, Digi-Key provides free-of-charge components worth $10,000 US dollars. BMK is contributing three Ramp-Me-Up kits to help start-ups produce their products economically and efficiently.
Which start-ups receive the prizes are based on the following evaluation criteria:
- Innovative product implementation
- business idea
- Marketing potential
Interested start-ups can submit their presentations by e-mail by 1 October. An information video on TechMatch is also available online.
