The digital I/O module includes individually programmable I/Os. Interrupts on ports P1 through P4. Configurable pull up and pull down registers among other features. Typically pin functions are multiplexed and the selection of a function other than GPIO is performed by setting a combination of the DIR and SEL bits. The device datasheet covers the various portions for each pin function and the corresponding register setting.
