Once an FR59xx device is programmed, the following options can be used to secure it from external access. The designer can program the JTAG fuse by disabling JTAG or locking it with a password they can disable the boot strap loader to prevent unsecured access or finally, they can protect a portion of the code such as sensitive IP by using the IP encapsulation feature. Each of these are discussed in more detail in the upcoming slides.
