A popular application that the ADuC7060/1 has been proven in is a gas detection sensor. The primary ADC along with the PGA is used for interfacing to the electrochemical sensor while the secondary ADC is usually used for temperature compensation. This device is battery operated and its small 5 x 5mm, 32-LFCSP package is ideal for this portable device. Also, the on-chip PGA provides a wide dynamic range for the sensor. Similar devices can be used for oxygen analyzers in medical applications or to interface to smoke or gas sensors in industrial applications.
