AL8890Q/AL88902Q Automotive Buck Converters

The Diodes AL8890Q and AL88902Q automotive-compliant synchronous buck converters have an adjustable switching frequency of up to 2.5 MHz and internal compensation.

To achieve high-efficiency DC/DC conversion, they integrate a 120 mΩ high-side N-MOSFET and a 55 mΩ low-side N-MOSFET.

With efficiencies of up to 95%, the AL88902Q can handle up to 2.5 A of continuous load current, while the AL8890Q can handle up to 3.5 A. They use current mode control, which makes loop stabilization simple and compatible with various output loads.

In addition to providing soft-start and tracking functionality, the AL8890Q and AL88902Q can operate as LED and constant-current (CC) drivers thanks to their SS/TR multi-function pin.

The high switching frequency, smaller inductor size, and integrated MOSFET of the AL8890Q and AL88902Q simplify board layout and minimize space requirements, which makes them perfect for power management.

The AL8890Q and AL88902Q are available in TSSOP-16EP and wettable flank U-QFN4040-16/SWP (Type UXB) packages.
