The RX671 keeps products safe with Renesas' original Trusted Secure IP. Not only does this IP have hardware accelerators for cryptographic processing, but it also has advanced management functions for further protection. The key management function protects the key by associating with the unique ID of the device and outputs the key generation information instead of the key itself from the IP. Even if the key generation information is stolen, it cannot be used in other devices. The access management function detects unauthorized accesses to the IP and shuts out subsequent access attempts. The encryption engines accelerate the processing speed of major common-key/public-key encryption and hash functions. Competitors' MCUs also have encryption engines, but do not have many of these management functions. By using the RX671, products can be strongly protected against various kinds of attacks via networks.
