Strommesswandler erfassen und messen den Stromfluss in einem isolierten Leiter oder einer Primärwicklung und erzeugen einen proportionalen Wechselstrom in einer Sekundärwicklung. Der Frequenzbereich reicht von 2 Hz bis 1 MHz bei einem Nennstrom von 125 mA bis 4000 A. Es gibt drei Typen von Strommesswandlern: invasive, nicht invasive mit ganzem Ferritkern und nicht invasive mit geteiltem Ferritkern.
