AC Surge Protective Devices

The Bourns^® 1210 Series Heavy Duty AC SPD and 1250 Series General Duty AC SPD are two lines of DIN Rail mountable AC surge protective devices. These protectors are designed to be installed close to sensitive equipment downstream from the main circuit breaker. Per UL 1449 requirements, these devices are Type 4 SPDs, designed to be installed into Type 2 applications. The 1250 Series is a General Duty AC SPD with a maximum discharge current rating of 50 kA (8/20 μs), whereas the 1210 Series is a Heavy Duty AC SPD with a maximum discharge current rating of 100 kA (8/20 μs). Both series comply with standards UL 1449 3rd edition and IEC 616343-1.

The 1210 series has a 100 kA max. discharge current rating while the 1250 series has a 50 kA max. discharge current rating. Both series feature a Multi-pole uni-block design, DIN Rail mountable, UL 60691 compliant integrated thermal disconnect, visual fault indicator, remote signaling capability, and RoHS compliant.
